How To Get A Couples Car Insurance Discount

If you are like so many other drivers out there, you may have heard that drivers often get a major discount off the cost of their auto insurance premium when they get married. The fact is that some insurance companies do give a true discount based on your marital status. Others, however, do not, but do give you discounts based on other aspects of your new driving scenario as a married couple. When you are starting out your new life together as a married couple, you certainly don’t want to start out paying more than you need to on car insurance. So you do want to take some time to learn more about what is going on.

Multiple Car Discount

Many newlyweds have been surprised to learn that their insurance company doesn’t offer a true “marriage discount,” but instead the discount is based on adding another vehicle to the policy. If you and your spouse both owned cars before you got married and had separate auto insurance policies, you may find that by combining both cars onto the same policy can trigger a multiple car discount. Most major insurance companies offer this discount, and it can be rather significant. To get the best rate, you will want to not just get a quote for coverage from both of your existing insurers, but you will also want to shop around for coverage from other insurers who also offer this discount.

Multiple Drivers on the Policy

Of course, not every married couple has two cars. Some people live in communities where they are able to make use of mass transit, use a bike as their many mode of transportation, or even walk to work and local stores. Yet one of the newlyweds may have a car as well as an existing insurance policy. In some cases, it may be better to keep only one driver insured on that vehicle. However, in other cases, you can save money by adding a second driver to the policy. This is especially true of the second driver is over the age of 25, has a clean driving record, or can trigger other discounts such as a student driver discount.

A True Marriage Discount

Some insurance companies do not ask for marital status at all on an application for insurance, while others do. For instance, Geico does not currently ask about marital status and do not offer a marital discount. Other insurance companies, such as State Farm for one, not only ask for this information but do offer a discount for being able to mark “Married” as a response to your marital status on the insurance application. You will want to contact your current insurance company as well as your new spouse’s insurance company to see which insurer will offer you the greatest savings on your new marital status.

Multiple Policies Discount

When you were single, you likely didn’t give much thought to getting a life insurance policy. However, now you have a spouse who will be left behind if you pass away. Many newly married couples who are making changes to their auto policies will also consider adding life insurance coverage, too. Many auto insurance companies like State Farm and AllState, to name a few, will offer you a discount on your auto coverage if you also obtain a life insurance policy with them. Likewise, you may also be able to obtain a discount on your auto insurance coverage if you add a renter’s or homeowner’s policy. If you do not have renter’s insurance right now, or if you are considering buying a new home together in the near future, you will want to take time to learn about how these coverages can save you money.

Other Ways to Save

In addition to benefit from a marital discount or from related discounts such as adding another car or another driver to the policy, you and your spouse may be interested to learn that there are some additional ways you may be able to save on the cost of your insurance coverage. One way that most people can enjoy savings from is by paying for your premium in one lump sum rather than paying for it monthly. Most insurance companies charge a monthly administrative fee that may equate to $100 or more in fees over the course of a year. By paying in a lump sum, you can save a decent sum of money. You can also consider taking a driver’s safety course together, as some insurance companies offer a savings of 10% or more on your premium by taking this course. State Farm offers its own Steer Clear program, which provides you with savings after watching their safety own safety video.

The fact is that each insurance company treats marital status a bit differently. Some disregard marital status entirely and instead offer married couples additional benefits for adding multiple drivers or multiple cars to a policy. Others do provide you with a true marital discount, and may also add additional discounts to your policy for adding multiple drivers and multiple cars to the policy. In addition to these discounts, you and your spouse can look into other ways to cut down on your insurance costs, such as by getting life insurance policies through your current insurance company or paying your premium in one lump sum. You may find that when you combine several of these discounts together, you can truly enjoy the most affordable auto coverage for you and your spouse. Because each insurance company treats marriage differently and also offers different discounts that you and your spouse may qualify for, you will want to shop around and get quotes from several insurers to find the best deal possible.

When we get stuck with a flat tire on the road, it is so important to know how to proceed. Yet, most people don’t even know the basics and panic. Green Towing Encinitas is dedicated to people’s roadside safety and has put together a fast and quick flat tire guide! Not sure how to chance a flat tire? Read on for the best practices if you get a flat tire.

First thing is first! Turn the hazard lights on and ensure that the car is parked in flat area, with the parking brake on. If you on the highway, make sure you pull over far enough so you are not in the way of traffic.

Do you have a spare tire? Not sure? You can usually fine the spare tire in the trunk along with the lug nut wrench and car jack.

We of course recommend calling for professional and certified roadside assistance, but here are the basics you should absolutely know if you are interesting in changing a flat tire on your own. You need to have some basic tools for the car, like a wrench and car jack.

Loosen the lug nuts that hold the wheel in place before you jack up the car. To loosen the nuts the wrench has to be turned counter clockwise.

When jacking up the car, refer to the driver’s manual to ensure that the jack is placed in the safest area possible. It is important to jack the car high enough as to leave enough space (an inch or two) for removing the flat tire and easy placement of the spare tire.

Once that is done, remove all of the lug nuts and place them somewhere easy to reach and easily found. The flat tire should now be taken off. Then roll the tire to a safe area; don’t lift the tire on your own.

Carefully lift and fit the spare tire onto the wheel studs. Always remember that when placing a spare tire onto the wheel studs the air valve must be facing out.

Replace the lug nuts and tighten them by hand. Then take the lug wrench and tighten them further, although not too tightly or else they will be impossible to loosen should another flat tire occur.

Lastly place the hubcap back on and return the fix flat tire tools to the trunk.

Once you have successfully changed your flat tire, remember to replace the spare tire as soon as possible.

Don’t forget to replace the spare tire when you have the chance. You always want to have this backup in the future.

Green Towing Encinitas operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year so you can rest assured that if you blow a tire, you can get immediate and expert help! You will need to have a spare in order for our qualified tow truck operators to help you.

Getting ACDmeet.org up and running

We are gathering in numbers in order to get something going. We want to encourage meets around the
country open to all things with four wheels that is street legal. With this group we want to entice people
to bring their daily drivers and fling them around corners and truly become in tuned with their vehicles
capabilities. This will also be a good time to meet face to face and hopefully beat the guy that’s been
talking smack online and put him in his place. That guy is usually me, I talk a big game and then drive
like a 16 year old Asian girl that had a few too many Saki bombs and lost her coke-bottle glasses. I know
I’m not the best driver out there as I have seen some amazing talent coming from guys that didn’t think
they were better than the next guy. We don’t care if you drive your Mom’s minivan from your last D&D
game, if you feel like you have the need for speed (and corners) then bring that 94 Astro and drift that
bitch.

We get hot when we see a chicane or banked corner so we hope to scope out some prime spots in order
to test our capabilities or lack thereof. We came up with the idea for this site after watching a episode of
Top Gear when they drove from Miami to New Orleans. It was an eye-opener when we saw them at the
race track that had been closed down for a few years yet still had the capability to take on a few track
days. I have the mentality to go towards this as if I were following a Phish concert in the fact that I follow
meets around in my car and camp anywhere near the track. Why? Because I spent all my damn money
on neat shit for my car that’s why. I would like to have a few different classifications for races along the
lines of FWD, RWD, AWD, 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl, FR, MR, RR, Stock, Modified, and GT-R. Yes if you bring a GT-R
you are in your own class because the car is insane, seriously anyone can join your class and good luck to
them. Anyways hope to hear your ideas for racetracks, and classes. Please post some ideas and we will
get started on making you sad life awesome and with meaning.

Yeah ACDmeet.org is going to rock your face off

I don’t know about you but it seems that a lot of custom cars look like fins and shit would be falling off if
it goes over 55 mph. It probably will and that is why I like to see purpose built rockets screaming around
and listening to the beautiful symphony of tires screeching and an exhaust note that moans like your
prom date. I remember seeing a brand new Mazda Miata and seeing that the owner cut holes in the
bumper in order to make venting ducts straight to his front rotors. These changes show appreciation for
the little things makes me proud and guess what, that owner will deal with less brake fade until he can
afford the ceramic rotors. With so many people worried whether their car looks good it is refreshing to
see some on who has dirt, bugs, and racing rubber bits strung across the side in a graphic contemporary
art piece dubbed “hauling ass”.

It is strange that we don’t have a fascination for touring car races like the Brits (did) or the Aussie V8
series. Ovals suck and they get champion F1 drivers killed. I have hopes that we can get together and
branch off to Rally racing meets, Strip club meets, Sportbike meets and anything else that requires quick
reflexes and money. We have shitty speed laws, unforgiving police officers (hypocrites), and stupid
drivers all around as well as public safety so the streets are no place to race. I find track days kinda like
marriage in the fact that you use to race all the time and now you have to look at the streets but you can
race on it until your anniversary when you show up getting you and your car ready for an intimate date
where you rekindle your feelings and realize once again why you have each other until you blow your
(tire). Then after you feel relieved and at harmony you begin the drive home yet you just want it again
in 15 minutes. These are the feeling of every man as we let out our caveman inside, well if cavemen had
a 400HP AWD monster to drive.

Enough about my weird rants, lets here from you the backbone of this master plan, send us pics, stories,
videos, and all the goods you have to offer and in return we will give you a gold star and ask to crash on
your couch.

That’s right sports car fans, we are working tire-lessly when our mom lets us on the computer (I’m 37
I should get the computer time extended soon, hopefully), and anyways we are working on building
the site and changing it to a blog format that mimics Jalopnik before the made the change. We hope to
also have the comment quality of our readers as they did before everyone got all serious and bitchy.
We are not only going to talk about every car thing other than Nascar we are going to work to create
our own Nascar series, seriously let’s take a brief with some facts that aren’t checked, look at what
the sport should be. We know Nascar started from moonshiners racing their cars that were developed
out of necessity in order to out run the police who at that time just wanted to get bit & lit off that shit
anyways. Later they organized races and competed and then rules were set in place. Today you have
to have millions to get into Nascar and it has differentiated itself from itself further than any sport I can
think of. So here is my idea of a Nascar series. Three categories of 4cyl, 6cyl, and 8cyl classes that are
American (soil) manufactured cars that have to be bought locally at a dealership completely stock and
you get to place a roll cage, fuel cell, and replace glass, that’s it, tires and brakes and everything wear
and tear have to be replaced with the same exact OEM parts. This would be true stock car racing and
hopefully get big enough to spurn a manufacturers competition, wait do the big 3 even build cars on
American soil anymore? Okay so we will be driving a bunch of Camry’s, Kia’s, and Hyundai’s then.

If you had your own racing series to build what would you race and how would you keep the cheaters
from finding loopholes? I have noticed that even tractor racing has gotten to the point where you need
sponsorship from a 24hr energy drink that makes your dick small just to pay for parts. Want to hear
from you and find out what you want to race and how you would classify it into competitive groups to
keep racing nice and tight. I am thinking about starting a pallet jack racing series so we can soon see
carbon fiber pallet jack that have been wind-tunnel tested for maximum efficiency and have rollers

ACD is an acronym for Accelerated Corner Drivers or Asshole Can Drive your choice we don’t care. But
we are a group of car enthusiasts that have gotten together and take corners rather than sit on our
bums and talk about how we are saving up for an LED lit tailpipe that coughs panties. We want to be
able to interact with other members who are in local areas throughout and meet up to test our skills at
tracks and in open lots or wherever you can do a time attack without collecting too many pets and small
children in the grill. We do frown upon street racing when you get caught. If you cause an accident by
your stupidity then we keep you onboard to ridicule you to no end. But in some seriousness we want to
have fun and shed our cubicle shithole for some skidpad scorching. Sure people make their cars fast but
if I want acceleration in a straight line then I put on my best camo and mullet wig and go down to the
local drag strip. Taking corners is an art and as most car enthusiasts around the world think Americans
can only turn around an oval track and promote boner pills and energy shots. We are a congregation
of drivers that go to our church each weekend to push our vehicles to the limit and hone our skills.
This site is to inform you of meetings, races, and give you tips on weight reduction, suspension tuning,
power management, and anything else that helps you take a corner faster. One of the first experiments
we hope to achieve is to take a basic stock car and place wider tires by small increments and test the
skidpad and lap time. After the tire test we will work on springs, struts, and shocks. This should help to
show you some good yet somewhat inexpensive ways to get started. We also and mainly want to hear
from you and what you want and have done to your cars. We want to see picks and hear some goofy
comments. We hate know-it-alls and crybaby bitches so don’t be these guys and girls. If you explain with
reason we want that but if you ridicule for lack of knowledge you are an ass as we want to bring the
wise and the newcomer to congregate with one another and pass on knowledge about the passion we
have come to adore.
